They say “Everything’s Bigger in Texas'‘. After coordinating an amazing wedding in Dallas, I agree!
Meet Santasha and Sherwin. They hired me to plan their wedding approximately 6 months before the big day. It takes a very special relationship between a Planner and a couple to pull off a wedding in 6 months while in two different states and in two different time zones!
This may sound complex, however, this was one of the easiest weddings I’ve planned to date. Trust and constant communication were key throughout the process. We worked together seamlessly to make all of their wedding dreams come true!
This wedding is one of my all-time favorites due to the couple’s BIG ideas and their BIG hearts! The wedding was also a BIG deal for my business!
As I break down why this wedding holds a BIG place in my heart, enjoy photos taken by the amazing Amanda Raylee of Amanda Raylee Photography.
Big Ideas
Santasha and Sherwin knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding day. They were interested in having a modern minimalist wedding with lots of interaction with guests and special moments with family. I love when a couple is focused on the guest experience. This wedding was perfect for me!
Strategically, the couple only invited their closest family and dearest friends. They also chose an intimate setup that ensured all guests had an unobstructed view of the celebration. Additionally, the seating arrangement encouraged guest interaction and maximized the dance floor! From the time the couple was announced to kick off the reception, guests were fully prepared to engage in all the fun the couple had in store for them!
After the wedding, the bride and her friends started everything off with a surprise dance performance! This really set the tone for the rest of the day! As you can see in the photo, everyone was out of their seats and enjoying themselves! The couple also created special moments during their parent dances! This was not your typical father/daughter and mother/son two-step! They were viral-worthy dances to custom tracks that included fun and elaborate choreography!
Santasha and Sherwin also added games to the agenda. They started with the infamous shoe game! As the couple provided their answers to fun questions, the guests had a blast shouting out their own responses as well! They also played a creative version of the Newlywed Game! Instead of the couple participating, the bride’s mother and groom’s father answered questions to see how well they knew their kids! As they asked about everything from childhood nicknames to the most embarrassing memories, guests enjoyed learning more about the couple and their parents loved the special time they had with the bride and groom.
And finally, the couple connected with each guest and family member individually as they passed out desserts! Santasha and Sherwin were adamant about getting face time with everyone to show their gratitude! I loved this idea for two reasons. First, this was just another opportunity for the couple to create special moments with everyone. And most importantly, the desserts were from Crumb & Kettle. I swear I’m going to plan a trip back to Dallas JUST for their delicious Crumb Cups!
Working together, we managed to accomplish everything they wanted for their wedding day. By curating the perfect setup, incorporating fun throughout the day, and ensuring everyone felt appreciated, the couple and their guests got everything they could ask for!
Big Hearts
As I mentioned earlier, Santasha and Sherwin have big hearts! Not only did they give me the opportunity to work with them, but they referred me to other couples and provided a video review of my services!
Sometimes when I’m struggling to balance my business and my life, I revisit this video. It’s a great reminder of why I love doing this work!
Big Deal
Professionally, this event was a huge deal for me.
It might seem small, but this was my FIRST wedding in a different time zone! As I continue my work to conquer the rest of the country, I am super thankful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful couple in an amazing city!
Santasha and Sherwin, I can’t thank you enough for choosing me as your Planner! It was a pleasure working with you!
