Make It Special

I was planning to skip my blog post this month due to all the things I have going on! However, while I was on my flight to Savannah (without WiFi, they lied to me), I realized it was an opportunity for me to share some quick thoughts!

This week I have a wedding to coordinate. As a part of the process, I’ve been in touch with the Maids of Honor and the point person for the groomsmen. My connection with them included a quick conversation around the following topics:

  1. Overview of the wedding activities

  2. How they can help me (example: making sure people are on time)

  3. How I can help them (example: keep copies of their speeches)

  4. And then my favorite part, discussing how to make the end of the night special for the bride and groom.

In my opinion, doing something special for the bride and groom at the end of such a memorable day, is a must!

Just think about it. After the reception, most couples are exhausted*, hungry, and sometimes drunk! Wouldn’t it be nice for the couple to enjoy a special gift while their limo takes them to the hotel? Or wouldn’t it be great if they entered their hotel suite to find a surprise from the people they love most!

When I connected with one of the Maids of Honor for my upcoming event, she mentioned something that inspired my blog post today. She said, “I only want to do something that is unique and meaningful to the couple”. Of course, this made me happy as this is my philosophy when it comes to planning anything for anyone

While some couples may enjoy rose petals and champagne, here are a few other ideas for the “just married limo ride” and/or the hotel suite. Just remember to make it unique and special for the couple!

Just Married Ride

  • Snacks - Couples rarely get to eat on their wedding day! Surprise them with a basket of their favorite snacks to enjoy while they ride their way to lifelong happiness!

  • Custom Magnets - Decorating the car is all fun and games until someone has to clean it! Purchase custom magnets to celebrate the couple and make clean up a breeze!

  • Photo Album - Never underestimate the power of a heartfelt handwritten note and a picture! Have everyone in the wedding party write a note to the couple and print their favorite picture! Place the note and the picture in the photo album for the couple to cherish forever.

  • Wedding Night Basket - Leave a themed wedding night basket in the vehicle for them to use in the hotel suite! There’s so many options! You can make or purchase a themed basket that’s romantic, relaxing, or just plain silly.

Wedding Night Suite

  • Food Delivery - Have food delivered to the couple’s room as soon as they arrive. They will certainly thank you for it!

  • Champagne - For the couple that likes to “keep the party going”, have a bottle of their favorite champagne, liquor, or wine waiting for them when they arrive in their room! Don’t forget the engraved glassware!

  • Gift Card - Purchase a gift card towards services at the hotel (or anything else). Many hotels provide spa services and may give a discount since the service would be for the newlyweds!

  • Just Married Robes - Embroidered robe sets are a perfect touch to a wedding night!

Melodi, thank you for being an awesome Maid of Honor already! I can’t wait to meet you!

American Airlines, thanks for lying to me about the WiFi on this flight. It forced me to do something productive for my business.

And Marsha Ambrosius (because I’m sure you’re reading this), thank you for your new album, Nyla. It was on repeat while I worked!  **By the way, if anyone is looking for a wedding song, How High on her album is absolutely beautiful!**
